No phone number on file
Autheris has no account and no server. There is nothing tied to your number to SIM-swap, leak or recover.
Authy’s desktop apps are gone and it still wants your phone number. Autheris is a free, open-source authenticator for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch that needs neither, and lets you export your tokens whenever you like.
Authy made 2FA easy by keeping your tokens in its cloud, tied to your phone number. Autheris takes the opposite approach: nothing to register, secrets in your own Keychain, and you can always take them with you.

Authy has no export, so there is no file to import. Instead you point each service at Autheris. It is a few clicks per account, and you only do it once.
Sign in to the site (GitHub, Google, Microsoft, your bank…) and find two-factor authentication. Choose to change or re-add your authenticator app, and the site shows a fresh QR code.
In Autheris tap Add and scan the code. Type the 6-digit code Autheris shows back into the site to confirm, and save any new recovery codes it offers.
Keep Authy installed until every account works in Autheris. Then delete the old entries, and Authy itself when the list is empty.

Authy retired its desktop apps in 2024. Autheris runs natively on the Mac from the same free App Store listing as the iPhone app.
Export an AES-256-GCM encrypted backup or a transfer QR code whenever you like, so you are never locked in again — including out of Autheris.
The Apple Watch app shows one code at a time and generates it on the watch, with your iPhone out of reach.
Autheris is built for exactly that combination: one free App Store listing covers iPhone, iPad and a native Mac app, plus an Apple Watch app. It needs no phone number or account, keeps secrets in the Keychain, and is open source.
Not directly. Authy does not offer a way to export tokens, so no app can import them. You move each account by re-adding the authenticator in that service’s security settings and scanning the new QR code with Autheris.
Only after every account works in Autheris. Check each one by signing in with a code from Autheris first, and save the recovery codes each service gives you.
Yes, in two ways you control: opt-in iCloud Sync to your own private iCloud database, with secrets in encrypted fields, and encrypted backup files protected by a password you set.
No. There is no sign-up, no email address and no phone number. The app works entirely offline.
